Athena in Timmendorfer Strand

It was delicious and quick to prepare. When we were there it was relatively empty. Therefore, there were no problems with keeping the distances. The service was also very relaxed!

Was there on Monday noon, October 19th, 2020. Service very friendly, even if the way takes a bit of getting used to, but I got along well. Gyros very tasty and a lot, fries a bit sparse. All in all, you can go there and when I'm back in the village of Timmendorfer Strand, I will definitely go back to this restaurant if I want to eat Greek!

Cannot agree with the negative comments we went to eat here last Saturday and it was delicious. We ate very well, the tzatziki was well enriched with garlic, there can be no question of too little, the baked cheese, the gyros - everything was really great. We liked the relaxed - but always friendly - manner of the waiter right away. All other employees were also very nice, the restaurant made a very clean impression, including the sanitary facilities. We'll be back in a year.

To the nice Mr. Markus Scheffler;) if you had to watch the spectacle, then you could have seen with your eyes that the plates were definitely not empty, but almost as full as at the beginning. In your opinion, the three fries for my granddaughter should be a whole serving? A very bad joke! If that must have been full, then you've probably never been to a really full restaurant. Here guests who came after us got their food earlier than we did. A very bad service! The one waiter who served us was definitely not attentive or courteous, but rather snotty and rude! Oh yes, since we live in a democratic country, we can express our opinion freely! Evaluating a restaurant after a visit in order to give advice to other future guests is not reprehensible! And you have nothing wrong with the corona rules? Unfortunately, the health department sees it differently! If you are happy with the restaurant then that's fine. However, many other reviews show that our opinion is shared about the restaurant as many report similar things!

I would like to briefly refer to the contribution by Ms. Karina B and her family. How can you not feel comfortable walking into a restaurant? One should be able to explain this in more detail. We were there at the same time as Ms. Karina B and her family and saw everything. It was very full in the restaurant at this point. The toddler was given a portion of french fries in between. If the food was so bad for this family, why was it eaten? Why were the plates empty? Why do you have to try to stir up other guests against the restaurant? Why do you have to comment loudly when leaving the restaurant that gives a bad rating? Why do you have to use something like a threatening gesture? Why are others of the opinion that the food is very tasty and that the waitresses are nice? I haven't written a word about a serving. We feel very comfortable in this restaurant every time and the food is also very tasty. The waiters are very attentive and accommodating. The food is normally served on the plate. We always like to come back here.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't even want to give this Greek restaurant a star. Upon entering the restaurant, we didn't feel particularly welcome. Nevertheless, we gave the restaurant a chance. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our food with a toddler. The food didn't look nicely presented and the taste wasn't worth the money. Accordingly, almost everything remained untouched on our plates. Actually, we shouldn't even have paid for the meal. Apart from the unfriendly and arrogant waiter. It made the impression that he was overwhelmed and missed his job a bit. At least customer orientation looks different! In addition, the corona pandemic is apparently not really taken seriously here. The customer data is not recorded here. For these reasons I cannot recommend this restaurant to others!

Everything great. And the said Kelner is ok has its own style, but that's a good thing. If you want to have a set standard, go to McDonalds

It should be a nice way to start the evening on the first day of your vacation. After twenty minutes the drinks came, after another quarter of an hour there was still no starter, while guests who came after us were already consuming the main courses. Asked - "Coming soon ..!" Second round of drinks ordered, within a further quarter of an hour asked several times about the starter and also about drinks. "Coming soon" is the answer that just hasn't been put into practice. After about an hour, more new guests already had their starters, we canceled, paid for the drinks and left. In addition: Compliance with the corona-related hygiene rules is questionable!

I can recommend this restaurant to everyone with a clear conscience. The service is super nice and you feel welcome. Order taken quickly and the excellent food made up for the waiting time. The restaurant is very busy and everyone was satisfied, it's a shame that only a few rate it. So you are in the area and want to eat very good Greek, go to Athena., It is really worth it.

Good food, good fast service even though the shop was full. PRICES OK maybe a little too expensive for tea. Otherwise everything was fine.

In general one the worst experiences I’ve had. Leaving aside the poor price-quality ratio (overpriced mediocre dishes) and the endless waiting time (food took almost an hour to arrive) or and guests that came later were served first, comes the awful service from the server who kept an offensive attitude the whole time rudely eye-rolling when I ask if I could have bread, going away puffing and mumbling and raising his voice aggressively when I reminded him that the salat had not come.

Once and never again! The unfriendly and prepotent waiter must be the owner. As an employee, he would have been blown out a long time ago due to the numerous negative comments about his nature, which I can fully confirm. Actually a shame, because the location and ambience of the restaurant are quite nice and all other employees are nice and courteous.

However, we weren't there at rush hour. The food (we had gyros or one vegetarian pasta casserole) was tasty and optically very good, for it there are five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Towards the end, our impression would have been even better if the glasses had been removed from them in the meantime abandoned tables would have been cleared. We weren't asked for another drink either. There is room for improvement in terms of service ... but only two service staff were active. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Conclusion: If you want to enjoy good, typical Greek food with nice people, the Athena restaurant is a good choice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you could distribute minus stars here, I would do it. If you are considering eating here, I can only advise against it. You choose something from the menu and the waitress comes to take the order. You look forward to your meal and only then are you told that calamaris and liver are unfortunately the 'only things' that are over after the holidays. No problem - you decide. The choice fell on eggplants. The service comes again Bad luck: Eggplants are out too. Anticipation for a Greek meal is sinking. A look from the waiter into the kitchen with the happy news: Eggplants arrived half an hour ago, on the holiday !? Not really credible, but okay . What do we want as a side dish? Greek style potatoes at € 5.50 each. Waiter's response: "We haven't, I've been working here for a year, and we haven't since." The question of why it is on the card was justified with: "What can I do for it?" Overall, the service became increasingly unfriendly, which is why we decided to go to another Greek restaurant. When this was noticed by the waitress, we were "asked" from the restaurant. This only suited us.

Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our food. In addition, our starter only came to the main course. All in all, we should only have 1 1/2 hours for everything, after we asked extra we were only allowed to stay longer ... In addition, two dishes were completely sold out.

Location of the restaurant is very good. However, the quality of the food is not very high. They didn't offer us usou, while it was offered to all other people.
